ABOUT US
A bunch of women in wellies met as strangers back in February 2008, all participating in the “Growing Together” programme run by the
Organic Centre in Rossinver, Co. Leitrim and funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the International Fund for Ireland. During the growing season our group met every Tuesday, learning how to grow vegetables organically under the expert tuition of Klaus Laitenberger. We have learned loads, become great friends and we have all discovered a passion for growing, re-awakening latent skills that have been lost in just a few generations.
During the second year of the course the focus was on "growing commercially". We ran a small box scheme, supplying a number of families
with a weekly batch of organic veggies. We also supplied Londis in Dromahair with our delicious salad bags and the Riverbank Restaurant with baby leaves, herbs and tomatoes.
Based on last year's success (and enjoyment) we have decided to continue our venture and
we now meet every Wednesday at a new garden in Ballintogher, Co. Sligo.
